At the Umm Al Quwain Chamber of Commerce, the Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Committee in Umm Al Quwain held its second regular session in 2018 under the chairmanship of HE Sultan Humaid Abdullah. The members of the Center were HE Khalfan Ahmed Mesfer, Abdulrahman Abdul Rahim Al Zarouni, Abdullah Khamis Al Suwaidi and the Center\’s Advisor Basem Al Zubaidi.

 

The case of conciliation and arbitration submitted by the parties to the dispute in the case of sale and purchase of two Villas at Umm Al Quwain Marina and in the presence of representatives of the parties to the dispute was presented during the hearing. The Commission heard the claims of the agents of the defendant and the defendant against them. The Chairman of the Committee stated that the Center has consistently affirmed the necessity of conciliation and settlement without resorting to other procedures which require additional time, expenses and fees. The Center has also managed to deal with many commercial complaints between companies inside and outside the emirate since its establishment and publicity in 2016. The Center has received many cases and considered them in accordance with the provisions of its system and took the necessary decisions and recommendations thereon. Many arbitrators with experience and competence were included in the list of arbitrators and a number 15 of experts. What an expert in various legal, advisory, financial and economic terms of reference and the parties to the conflict can use arbitrators and experts on trade disputes among themselves, or the use of any of the arbitrators and experts accredited to the country.
